Para Legal Volunteer Training Program

Nidaan Legal Aid Forum, School of Law, Prerna Foundation and District Legal Service Authority, Thane had organised a Para Legal Volunteer Training Program . The program was scheduled on 5th, 6th, 12th and 13th January. Para Legal Volunteers serve as the front-line warriors for legal awareness campaigns as they work at the community level. The Inauguration Ceremony was graced by the presence of Rtrd. High Court Judge Hon’ble S K Shinde Sir. The resource people for the first day of the training program were Hon’ble Shri Ishwar Suryavanshi, Adv. Aileen Marques and Dr. Anand Kasle who introduced the students to DLSA Schemes and Work, purpose of PLV training, and covered other topics like Family laws, PCPNDT, Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005, Basic Drafting and listening skills, and The Constitution of India. The concepts covered on the 2nd day of the training program were Juvenile Justice Act, 2015, Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006 and Criminal Laws by Priti Patkar, Pooja Yadav, Vikas Sawant and Adv. Siddarth Desai. The 3rd day of the training program comprised sessions on Immoral Trafficking Prevention Act, Cyber Crimes and related laws, Socio Economic Report of Under trial prisoners and home visits by the expert speakers Mr. Pravin Patkar, Sonali Patankar, Sunil Arora, and Bhujang More and the last day of the training program comprehended sessions on Protection Of Women from Sexual Harassment Act 2013, POCSO Act, 2012, Role of Support Person and report writing by Dr. Mrs. Karuna Malviya, Priti Patkar and Ms. Geeta Rani. This comprehensive training program ensured the students with benefits like practical experience, skill improvement, professional progression, personal development, and the chance to positively influence their communities. The valedictory session was graced by the presence of Hon’ble Swarupa Dholam madam, Registrar of Maharasthra Human Rights Commission.
