Police Training Program (Pune - Rural) on New Criminal Laws
The Nidaan Legal Aid Forum recently conducted a specialized training program for the Pune Rural Police Department, focused on the newly enacted criminal laws in India. The program aimed at developing grassroots-level legal understanding among police personnel, ensuring they are well-equipped to implement recent reforms effectively.
The inauguration ceremony was led by Hon’ble Justice Mr. Shriram Modak of the Bombay High Court, who delivered an insightful keynote address highlighting the critical role of law enforcement in upholding justice under the new legal regime.
Adv. Nilesh Vishwanath Agarwal, Chairman and Founder of the Nidaan Legal Aid Forum, emphasized the organization’s commitment to bridging gaps between legal theory and practice. A legal luminary and cultural patron with decades of experience, Adv. Agarwal’s multi-dimensional contributions were also acknowledged during the event. Youth President Mr. Satya Agarwal further elaborated on the Forum's vision, outlining how this training program aims to foster deeper understanding of criminal law changes and build capacity among future practitioners.
One of the most awaited moments of the day was the Keynote Address by Hon’ble Justice S. M. Modak, who provided profound insights into the impact of the new criminal laws on the judiciary, legal processes, and common citizens. Justice Modak’s address was both enlightening and thought-provoking, drawing on his vast judicial experience to emphasize the need for responsible implementation and informed advocacy.
